Client:
String Theory Charter Schools, Halloween celebrations during the Pandemic
Situation:
Even though schools were not in session, children were invited to celebrate Halloween in unique ways by three of the four schools in their system. Each event got tremendous coverage.

1) Philadelphia Charter School for Arts & Sciences – they created a Pumpkin Picking event, where families were invited at scheduled times to pick up their pumpkins in the decorated school yard, seeing a school favorite – Pumpkin Man.

2) Philadelphia Performing Arts, K to 4th grades, invited students to select pumpkins in their brand-new Children’s Secret Garden in the tot lot behind the school. During the Pandemic, there was time to renovate this tot lot into a beautiful garden, complete with padding on the ground covered by Astro Turf. Pumpkins were strewn throughout and the children, at a distance, were able to select pumpkins from this new garden. They were so thrilled to see classmates. This, too, was timed carefully.

PR Results:
1) 6 ABC and NBC 10 covered the Pumpkin Picking event and ran it repeatedly 10 days before Halloween.

2) For this event, all three major television stations covered it – CBS 3, 6 abc and NBC 10. This was just before Halloween, so the story was also repeated several times.
