History: Sharla Feldscher has always had a passion for music. In the early years of her public relations career, she served as PR Chair of the Philadelphia Music Alliance where her peers were such music icons in the City as Kenny Gamble, Larry Magid, Joe Tarsia and Kal Rudman. The visibility she was able to create helped build the image of Philadelphia as a music city with legendary musicians. Her interest grew at the same time (late 80’s, early 90’s) when she partnered in a music business with singer Jerry Boyle and the late legendary jazz pianist George Mesterhazy. From 1996 to 2001, she served as public relations consultant to Peter Nero and the Philly POPS representing the orchestra and Peter Nero as his national publicist. It was Sharla who had the idea and implemented the administrative work of Senator/Astronaut John Glenn waking up to Peter Nero’s music in space.
Today: As the firm’s music client list has expanded, the FHPR Music division continues to build. As the management for the band TJP as well as singer Paul Jost, vocalist, composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist, they work on the process of releasing CD’s. As an example, is Peace and Love by TJP working with designers Mia Bosna who created the butterfly and Kathy Ridl, who designed the CD packaging. In addition, they work with music marketing expert Andrew Read of DQB Designs, based in Amsterdam, planning all marketing, graphic design and social media for Paul Jost, whose newest album is being released in Spring 2019 called “Simple Life.”
FHPR has handled the public relations for the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra for many years, creating the ongoing Ovation Award that recognizes “the music teacher who changed my life” with partners WRTI 90.1. Jacobs Music Company (the regional Steinway representative) and J.W. Pepper, the sheet music company. FHPR was pleased to have returned to do public relations for The Philly POPS (2013-2017) and be part of the team that turned around the orchestra, bringing record-breaking sales. They still handle the publicity for POPS President and civic and cultural leader, Frank Giordano.
Sharla is proud to be involved in Jazz Philadelphia, serving as co-chair of the Media Working Group with Roger LaMay, General Manager of WXPN-FM.

Andrea is an award-winning composer of Broadway-style musicals, all conveying positive messages for children related to tolerance, respect and building self-esteem. FHPR publicized the multi-award-winning documentary about Andrea’s work – On the Other Side of the Fence — that won an Emmy, the United Nations Public Affairs Award, the NY Film and TV Festival’s Gold Medal Award and the Telly Award.
DePue Brothers Band
The DePue Brothers Band is a string septet with members from the Phila. Orchestra and other prestigious music organizations.
FHPR works as referral to Dot Time Records’ talent, publicizing artists including Erin Dickins, an original member of the Manhattan Transfer, and Lucette Van den Berg.
Sharla has worked as Eddie Bruce’s management while FHPR handled publicity for his performance career including concerts in jazz and cabaret clubs locally and nationally, POPS orchestras and more.
A founding member of Manhattan Transfer, Erin is as passionate about cooking as she is about singing. FHPR worked with her as she created and launched a combination cookbook (Sizzle & Swing) with a new recording of Java Jive that includes a reunion of the living original Manhattan Transfer members.
FHPR publicized this semi-annual Cape May tradition with such headliners as Wynton Marsalis, Pat Metheny, Ron Carter, etc.
Jacobs Music Company was a client for several years. The company is the area’s exclusive representative for new and authentically restored Steinway & Sons, and Steinway designed Boston and Essex pianos. Jacobs also represents many other highly respected new and used piano manufacturers from around the world, including Yamaha, Disklavier and Clavinova, all at great values.
With Jerry Boyle and the late George Mesterhazy, Sharla served as President of Bright Moments Productions, a music company that was formed the release of Jerry and George’s CD’s “A Little Romance: Now and Then”, for which Sharla served as Executive Producer. Today, Jerry Boyle is a popular singer and the lead singer of the Motown/Rock n’ Roll group called the Violations.
FHPR is proud to be part of the team “Force for Good” of composer Jonathan Sprout to publicize the upcoming release of music videos that have been created as inspirational pieces.
Sharla handles management and publicity for all aspects of Paul’s career from performance to composing and arranging.
Working in association with founder Angela Corosanite since 1992, FHPR is proud to publicize this nationally recognized school and charter school system that focuses on STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. Music, dance and drama are an important aspect of the curriculum.
For many years, FHPR has publicized this annual international program created by pianist Ching-Yun Hu that brings outstanding piano students to Philadelphia for one week during the summer for intense training with the world’s most celebrated pianists. Sharla is proud to serve as a member of their board of directors of their non-profit association.
FHPR provides all public relations support for this nationally respected youth orchestra with six music ensembles.
FHPR placed Phyllis Chapell’s music video (Water) permanently as an exhibit in the Philadelphia Water Works Museum.
FHPR provided public relations services for The Philly POPS from 1996 to 2001 and from 2013 through 2017.
Bob Rawlins is a saxophonist and head of music theory at Rowan University. FHPR provided publicity for the launch of his book “Tunes of the Twenties – And All That Jazz”.
FHPR provided publicity for this jazz saxophonist/songwriter/educator on her Stand Up-Speak Out anti-bullying programs.
Sharla handles all management and publicity for this band that presents classic rock and folk music in a jazz format. Band members are vibraphonist Tony Miceli, bassist Kevin MacConnell and Paul Jost.
